How and when the manuscript arrived in the archives is unknown. Richard Wooddeson (1745-1822) matriculated at Pembroke College in 1759 and obtained a Demyship at Magdalen College in the same year. He was a fellow of Magdalen College in 1772-1822. Wooddeson received his B.A. in 1763, M.A. in 1765 and was made Senior Proctor in 1776. In 1777, he obtained his DCL, was elected Vinerian Professor of Law (which he resigned in 1793) and elected University Moral Philosophy Lecturer. Wooddeson was elected Vice-President of Magdalen College in 1782 and served as Magdalen’s Bursar in 1785, 1797 and 1821. He died in 1822, leaving £400 to the College.
