These letters were found loose in books from Daubeny's library. Other letters to him have been found pasted in other books from his collection. They are as follows:
"Geological pamphlets" vol. 5, between tract 3 and 4. (shelfmark 89.J.5): letter (in Spanish) from Casiano de Prado dated 15 July 1846.
"Scientific Pamphlets" Vol. 17 (shelfmark 89.HH. 18), between Tract [23] and [24]: Letter from H. Bonnewyn, pharmacien en Chef des Hopitaux (Belgium). It accompanied 5 pamphlets he was presenting to Daubeny in his capacity as President of the Chemical Society of London. The letter is undated, but Daubeny held this office in 1853.
"Mineral waters". Vol. VI (shelfmark 89.D.6): Letter from Dr. J. A. Vogler, dated "le 3 Juin 1840".
"Sketch of the rise and progress of the Royal Society Club" (shelfmark 90.EE. 8): Letter from W. H. Smyth, dated 24 Oct 1861.
D. Low, "An inquiry into the nature of the simple bodies of chemistry". (2nd ed., enlarged, London, 1848; shelfmark 93.B. 11): letter to Daubeny from David Low, dated 24 April 1848, presenting this book to Daubeny and talks about Daubeny's work on the Atomic Theory of Dalton. They seem to have had opposing opinions.
C. Daubeny, "Climate: an inquiry into the causes of its differences, and into its influence on vegetable life" (Oxford, 1863; Shelfmark 93.CC. 13): letter from P. Lovell Phillips, M.D. of Torquay, dated July 22 [probably 1863], addressed Torville, Torquay, giving comments on the lectures in this book.
Carlo Gemmellaro "Relazione dei fenomeni del nuovo vulcano" (shelfmark Daubeny 89.HH. 3 [9]). Letter to “Doubeny” from Gemmellaro’s brother Giuseppe (“una copia della memoria che il mio fratello Dr. Carlo...” quote from letter). Dated 2 Aprile 1832.
Collection of pamphlets by Daubeny in the Old Library in bound volume with spine title Memoirs. I. Chemical and miscellaneous. (Shelfmark: Magd.Daubeny-C. (MEM) v.1). Seven letters to Daubeny, dating from c. 1865, on the subject of University extension, from W.C. Henry, W. Budd, Francis Hawkins, [illegible], Caesar Hawkins, William Odling, and Edward Hawkins (Provost of Oriel).
